or college.
How long is each lesson?
Why are there two (2) parts to every lesson?
Your son or daughter will watch an interactive 15 minute video to learn the "how-tos" of the study skill in lesson one (The NERDY Facts).
The second part consists of three (3) activities over the course of 45 minutes. Instead of just learning about the skill, your child will immediately practice it and put it to use.
How long will my teen have access?
lesson per skill. This means your son or daughter can complete each lesson on his/her schedule, when it's convenient for the WHOLE family.
The course is hosted on Thinkific.
for the three activities. Printing off the guided notes and activity packet enables your teen to dive deeper into each lesson and retain the material better and for longer.
(and in what order)?
Note Taking, Annotating, Creating the Perfect Study Session, Retaining Info, Organization, Time Management, Goal Setting, Motivation, Soft Skills, Confidence, Self-Advocacy, Grit and Resilience, and Test Taking Strategies / Overcoming Test Anxiety
Yes! After completing the videos and activities for all 13 study skills and test taking strategies/overcoming test anxiety, you or your teen can download a NERDY Certificate.
How many credits is the Full Mini-Course Experience worth?
If you are a homeschooling family, I recommend considering this a 0.5 credit elective.
Your teen will spend more than 13 hours on study skills if he or she practices them outside of the lessons, especially as the skills build on each other and require your teen to use study skills he's previously learned to learn new study skills.
Your son or daughter has 1 year (365 days) from the purchase date to schedule and complete the 1:1 lesson.
